Mendel Megaking: The Singing Peas Opera

For the Hudební festival Znojmo, Orson is preparing a family opera about the brilliant geneticist Johann Gregor Mendel entitled Mendel Megaking, or When Peas Start to Sing.

This chamber opera will be presented in preview performances on 24 and 25 June 2026 in Znojmo. The official premiere will take place on 12 July 2026 at the Znojmo Municipal Theatre, followed by an additional performance on 13 July 2026.

The production will also be presented as part of the Smetanova Litomyšl on 29 July 2026 at the Smetana House.
